EnerNet. The network for the sustainable use of energy in water & wastewater

Events

This section of the website contains details of forthcoming events of relevance to the activities of the Network. These events may be organised by the Network itself, or may be externally organised either by network members or unrelated organisations. In addition to these special events, members of the Network may participate in the regular Technical meetings

The network offers energy short courses to support practitioners as part of its focus on technological issues relating to energy use and generation. These courses provide technical and practical knowledge on digestion optimisation and biogas clean up and upgrading technologies. Both courses will be held at Cranfield University.

If you are aware of an event which is relevant to the Network or are the organiser of an event that you would like to see included on this website, please contact us.

Conferences

The Network will host a conference annually. Potential topics are:

  • Process Intensification
  • Anaerobic Treatment
  • Energy best practice from Textile/Paper/Chemical industry examples
  • Biofuels

Network Workshops

Workshops will look in more detail at key areas identified from the Network Technical meetings (open only to members). Outcomes from workshop sessions, which will be held once a year, will include reviews on current practice and prioritisation of research subject. Potential topic areas for forthcoming workshops are:-

  • Reducing the energy costs of environmental protection;
  • Opportunities/Barriers/Implementation of renewable energy in the water sector;
  • Development of financial structures/incentives for improved energy management.

Network workshops are open to network members only. If you would like to join the network, click here (hyperlink to application form)

Short Courses

Short courses will be offered by Network members either individually or in conjunction with each other. The purpose of the short course will be for participants to develop skills in, and awareness of specific technical issues. Short courses will tend to be two to three days long and are open to all. A charge will be made for participation.

The following short courses have been held to date; EnerNet members may download course material from the Members Area of the website. (Click here)

  •  Biogas Production and Use
  •  Energy Efficient Mixing

Future short course topics may include:
